Bill Battle

William (Bill) Battle, Jr., born December 2nd, 1935, passed away at home on July 20th, 2018 at the age of 82.

        He leaves behind his wife, Darlene Battle, two sons, Darnell Battle and William Battle III, his daughter in-law, Rise Battle, two daughters, Carla and Violetta Battle, his son-in-law, Joseph Olley, Sr., his grandson, Joseph Olley, Jr., Frances Battle, and a host of family members, neighbors, and friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Helen Battle.

Bill Battle being Honored - from the Register Citizen

It is with great sadness that we have lost Bill Battle.  One of the members of the Brotherhood of Diversity from the start, Bill was always helping out with our group and speaking at events like our Martin Luther King celebration.

There will be a Funeral on Saturday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at Workman Memorial AME Zio Church in Torrington, at 60 Brightwood Avenue.

Please excuse the very short notice for this BUT if you can announce/promote the info below it will be greatly appreciated:

We are excited to announce, for this year’s National Day of Prayer, scheduled for May 3, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Coe Park, Torrington, we are assembling a “Choir of Unity” to take part in the evening’s venue.

We are inviting your church to share in this historic local occasion by giving members of your choir or church an opportunity to join us, in this choir, in a show of unity in our area.

The dates for choir practice will be Sunday afternoons on April 8th, 15th, 22nd, & 29th at 4:00 PM, and will take place at Joseph’s House, 116 Water Street, Torrington.

Wibo wants everyone to know that a 7 week (a few hours each week) training course is available for first responders - it is an EMT like course.
